Parents & Ancestors Now Take 5 Generations In 1 In The Properties 8/11/07
The Parents & Ancestors section in the properties have been updated again..Now instead of only allowing 4 generations to be added in 1 go you can add a full 5 generation pedigree right into this section without having to update the 5th generation dog by dog, this is a total of 63 dogs per pedigree. This dramatically speeds up adding 5 generations and is layed out in a pedigree style so makes it visually easier to follow what your doing. Champs now show in red in this section.

L2-HGA & HC , PHPV, Hips & Elbow Dysplasia Results Now On Peds 5/06/07
As from the 5/6/07 you L2-HGA & HC , PHPV, Hip score and Elbow dysplasia results can be added to your pedigrees in the main pedigree explorer.
This development came once again from user suggestions and requests and in an endeavor to adapt and progress we have added this to the CXP. It’s a very simple process to complete for the user who wants to add these results to their pedigrees and it’s simply a case of making sure that each dog you wish to have the results published for must have the results added in the Properties section by clicking on the “Heath & Fitness “button from there you can add your hip scores and other info.
Once you have the info added you can view the pedigree and click the + Hip results button below the listed dogs on the bottom left of your screen, the CXP will bring all the needed results for you if they have been added and if no results were added then it remains the same for each dog and only a title and name will show.

New Web Kit Auto Update System 10/05/07

One of the most recent additions to the CompanionXP V2 is the Auto update for the Peddy Kits
This gives the user the ability to keep their web kit up to date with any new records or updates made to their CXP databases through a simple button click...
The old way meant you had to do your additions and updates then save your database and open up an FTP client to send your files to your Kits server and this worked well as long as you were confident in using an FTP client and were sure of the files you needed to send..
Now the guess work has all been taken out and a sequence of predefined steps have been laid out for the user who can simply retrieve their web kits database >> update it > and send it back along with any pics they wish to incorporate with the records.
The feature requires you have a CXP web kit set up and you have a valid UserID & password
New Properties v2 10/05/07
CXP V2 Properties
The CXP V2 has a new properties system added, its based on the old system but has been split into separate sections instead of the Tab's that were in version 1.
In doing this it has enabled for complete expansion of the properties to allow for many many extra fields of data to be taken and collected and with the sections being split you only need to load and review the info you need so this has dramatically speeded up the properties section and made for a more efficient system.

The CXP properties V2 is the at heart of the Peddy Kit updator and of your peddy generation and this is where you will spend most of your time when adding dogs and updating their records with info and pics.
The main props screen has a quick slide view that will show you the brief details of the current dog along with a photo should you open it.

Companion XP Web Kit Updated 23/03/07
The web kit has adapted to follow the Companion XP and many of the new data fields in the Companion XP will now show in the relevant sections of the web kit.
A New look and new icons have been added to the managers Control panel allowing the managers complete control through a simple to use Control Panel

The web kits health report pages now have a print button to allow users to quickly print off any given dogs health testing data.
Pedigrees added to the database will now show a small star icon to confirm the pedigree and details are genuine if they have been checked and validated with the relevant KC or Registration body.
The kits application and submission forms have had a revamp with some new scripting routines that validate on the spot and make for a more efficient experience for the user trying to join.
Several security changes have been made to the Companion XP web kit as the kits can be ran by anyone the members/users log in details could become vulnerable depending on where the kits database is stored on the web servers so in the event the kit doesn't have a private secure outside directory all the users passwords etc are now 1 way encrypted in the database rendering them useless to any potential hackers.
This now means that the kit managers do not now have the ability to remind you of your passwords as they do not know or see them ever.....this makes the users data much more secure and if this log in details are used across many sites then the risk of a hack due to using stolen passwords from one site and trying them on another can not be done now either.
The kit does not have a password reminder system now due to the new security measures and encryptions but instead has a password RESET feature for forgetfull members, this allows the member to request their password be reset by the kit to a randomly generated password and the system emails this new log in details to the member, Once the member receives this new details they can log in and use the new members update profile section to change the new password to something more memorable to them, when added to the database this new password is also encrypted 1 way and no one has access to this.
When a new member / user apply's to become a member of your kit they now get asked a secret reminder question that must be answered and this is used later if needed to prompt for a password reset to confirm you are the account owner.
A new email blocking system has been added to allow kit managers to filter out email addresses they do not wish members to use for whatever reason, this can be done by adding a single address to ban eg: 'me@hotmail.com' or if you want to refuse a whole domain range you can just add 'hotmail.com' and no email accounts from hotmail.com will be allowed in the applications to join and the user will be informed and not allowed to proceed until an acceptable email address has been added.
An upload for scanned pedigrees has been added for members to add a scanned image of an official KC reg doc or pedigree to allow the managers or database team to validate the info being added to the databases.

Canine Properties Updated V2 4/03/07
The properties section has received a revamp with the addition of US testing schemes, bitch' season / heat recorder along with a general reshuffle and reformat slightly.
The inclusion for dogs from multi KC / Registration body's have been added along with the ability to compile multi breed databases, dogs with the same name can now be kept in 1 database as long as they are not from the same breed with in the same KC.
As the author of the software I have added the multi breed and multi KC capability's due to requests and although this has been tested and works I do not recommend new users try this as I personally find it to get a little confusing working on a single database with multi breeds from multi KC's and recommend that the user make a new database for each breed as this is where the companion excels and with the new pedigree kits available for Companion databases they can now go right on to your pedigree portals with no programming or HTML work or knowledge and they will display your pedigree and data online as they do in your Companion XP
In effect the new update was a major one and any editions before this will now not be eligible for updates to V2 as the database difference is to great.
Anyone running the Companion XP 06 or below can upgrade to V2 at a 50% discount if they wish to utilise the new adons and [ Web Kit ]
The web kit is ready made and can be customised a little by the user by adding your own images and logos to reflect yourself , dogs or kennels if desired.
The Companions Peddy Kit allows the user to run their database online and in doing so you have a members section so that you can decide who has access to your database, members have to apply to gain access and the kit manager can view and allow or refuse any memberships, alternatively the kit can be made open for all to view.
The kit gives you the ability to expand your database by collecting pedigrees and data online from your visitors and members via simple forms to collect with, this data can simply be added to the Companion XP and updated to your main database.
The kit also has a Scanned Pedigree upload section if you wish to have proof or validation on data added users can upload scanned images of their original pedigrees for you to check them out if required.
There is a small simple but fully functional gallery for you and members/visitors to display any canine pics and any amount of albums can be added and no user photo gets displayed until the manager approves it.
The web kit has a complete control panel for the manager to administer the site and add or delete content from simple to use forms that direct anyone using them including less confident users. [ View A Demo Of The Web Kit ]

New Complete Pedigree Web Kit 31/01/07
A complete ready made web site and pedigree portal in 1
The new development allows the users to deploy a web based pedigree portal to any given windows based web space and with no programming knowledge or web design or HTML knowledge you can set up and update a web database of your companions records and share it with the rest of the WWW......... Along with the ability to collect more pedigrees and photos and share them you can add to the pre made sections that allow you to add links, articles and news items......etc Similar to this one [VIEW A DEMO]
This will not be an update and is a separate application to the companion but can be used as a plug in with the Companion XP 07 and above.

Companion XP Changes made On : 10/12/2006
New main layout changes and some quick link buttons added to the main pedigree explorer.
Stud dog contracts have now been added, these follow the same principle as the puppy contracts and can be edited or completely changed and saved by the user/s.
General speed revisions have been made again thru most of the program and the average records now open in around .8 of a second, this is still dependant on the PC running the software.
A printer fix for older less configurable printers has been added to allow the user to adjust the pedigrees to suit and fit your printers maximum printable area.
